Successful tests with new wetting agent

On March 16, Cold Cut Systems, Southern Älvsborg Rescue Association and X-fire undertook successful tests with a new wetting agent, X-fog, together with the coldcut™ cobra cutting extinguisher. X-fog was originally designed for fire impregnation but has proven to be very efficient as agent added to the fire extinguishing water to increase the efficiency in fighting fibrous fires.

In the tests and experiments it was found that the extinguishing ability is significantly better and the protection against re-ignition increased dramatically. The substance has a different composition than the conventional wetting agent and is not toxic to the environment.

In the experiments Swedish Vattenfall Ringhals, Varberg Fire & Rescue Service, Falkenberg Fire & Rescue Service and Södra Cell Värö attended. They form a working group looking at the possibility of increasing the efficiency in the region by alternative extinguishing methods. The wetting agent is launched in Sweden by the company X-Fire and is available today in portable fire extinguishers and wood impregnation. In experiments at Guttasjön a specifically designed agent for water mist was used. All who participated and attended the tests at Guttasjön; Cold Cut Systems, X-Fire, Södra Älvsborg Fire & Rescue Services, Swedish Vattenfall Ringhals, Varberg Fire & Rescue Service,  Falkenberg Fire & Rescue Service and Södra Cell Värö (pulp mill) were very impressed with the efficiency and the extinguishing effect.
