From capability to operational use

Getting the equipment does not guarantee it will be used.

Introducing new methods is only the first step. Real operational value develops over time as users gain experience and learn what to expect in real incidents.

On the fireground, decisions are made under pressure and often with limited information. In those situations, firefighters rely on methods they know and trust.

When new equipment or techniques are introduced, confidence does not come automatically. It develops through practical and repeated training, where operators gain experience and Incident Commanders understand what the method can achieve.

Without that experience, new capabilities may remain available but rarely used. With training, they become part of normal operations and can make a real difference when it matters.
