Implementation of Knowledge

News

Lately, we have had busy weeks on the training side in the UK.

A few weeks ago, we delivered an open Cobra Instructor Course in Northamptonshire, with participants from different fire and rescue services, including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

The live fire exercises, combining Cobra and PPV, generated strong feedback and valuable discussions around how tactics influence conditions on the fireground.

Instructor training like this plays an important role in building internal capability – equipping new instructors to train and support their own organisations over time.

A fire is going out of a building with smoke coming out of it.

Following the course, we continued to Greater Manchester to begin a series of dedicated Cobra Incident Commander training days for their flexi-duty officers, focusing on how tactics, decision-making, and method come together at command level.

Great to see this level of focus on developing both practical skills and command-level understanding.

Training across several organisational levels is a key step in long-term implementation, creating the conditions to build competence throughout the organisation.

When both application and decision-making are aligned, Cobra can be used to its full potential.

If you are looking to take the next step in implementing Cobra in your organisation, we are happy to support.
