What stays with you

News

Firefighting does not always end when the incident is over.

Smoke may disappear, but harmful contaminants can remain on your protective clothing, equipment, and other surfaces long after you leave the scene.

Exposure on the fireground can therefore extend beyond the incident itself. Reducing your exposure from the start can help reduce the contamination you carry away afterwards.

Less exposure during an incident can mean less contamination brought back to the station – and ultimately home.
